Dear Brookhaven Families,
As you have most likely heard, Governor Justice has officially closed school buildings for the remainder of this school year. However, teachers will continue to support students through remote learning for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year. While family support has always been an essential key to students’ success, you have assumed an even larger role in the education of your students, and we appreciate the support you have given both the students and their teachers in seeing that their lessons are completed. Please know that the safety and well- being of students has been our priority throughout this pandemic.
Although onsite learning ended early, we had a wonderful school year. We had our fall festival, school-wide morning meetings, rewards for bulls in the corral, holiday program, parties, afterschool sports and events, field trips and so much more. A lot of wonderful memories were created this school year and captured in our school yearbook, that can be ordered online and shipped directly to your home. Please use the following link to obtain your copy. https://www.treering.com/validate?PassCode=101518116320659.
Here are some things that may be of interest to you as we move forward.
Meals will still be provided for those in need. If your financial situation has changed during the pandemic, consider applying for free/reduced breakfasts and lunches by visiting www.schoolcafe.com. This application is good for the rest of this school year and needs to be renewed after July 1. You will need to know your child’s WVEIS number to apply. Please call 304-291-9210, Extension 1538 if you have questions.
You will be notified of a day to pick up any belongings left at the school. This includes school pictures which many of you have asked about. Information is forthcoming from Monongalia County Schools about the availability of summer programs to provide academic support for students.
I will do my best to keep you updated through School Messenger of important information. As always, you are more than welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns. I can’t wait to see our students in the fall. It will be a wonderful reunion!
